Ocean City, NJ, is a wonderful place to celebrate the Fourth of July! Not only do we have the beautiful beaches and boardwalk, but there are so many activities. So grab your red, white, and blue, and enjoy some of these fun happenings:
Begin your day at the Farmers Market, open from 8 am – 1 pm every Wednesday through September 5 at the Tabernacle Grounds (6th and Asbury).
There are two July 4th bike parades to choose from and they both begin at 10 am. Registration starts at 9 am at 40th and Asbury Ave for the parade sponsored by the South OC Improvement Association. And registration for the parade sponsored by the Gardens Civic Association begins at 9 am at the Longport Bridge parking lot.
Get a taste of old-fashioned apple and cherry pie during the Wacky Wednesday Pie Eating Contest taking place at the Music Pier (Moorlyn Terrace & Boardwalk) at 10:30 am. The contest is open to all ages, but limited to 150 participants.
Listen to the Ocean City Theater Company’s Spotlight Performers Show Choir as they present “A Star Spangled Salute” at 6 pm in front of the Music Pier.
Keep your eyes on the sky for beautiful kites – a kite flying competition begins at 7 pm followed by entertainment.
July 4th wouldn’t be complete without a spectacular fireworks display. Get a great view from the boardwalk at 9 pm.
