It got cold quickly here in Ocean City, NJ, and as temperatures dip below freezing again, here are some tips on how you can prevent damage to your home:

*If you are not going to be down here during the Winter months, winterize your home. Shut off the water so you do not have to worry about the cold.

*If you are going to be down sometimes in the Winter, strongly consider using a Winter Watch service. They can help make sure your heat is on and your water is flowing.

*Change the batteries in your thermostat to make sure your heater is running!

*Strongly consider getting a Wi-Fi thermostat that you can control from home if you live far away. You can adjust the temperature based on the forecasted outdoor temp right from your phone!

*Arrange for someone to clear snow from your walkways and driveway.

Even though it may be brutally cold right now, the Summer will be here before we know it! Rental property owners, please let us know if you need new rental signs, pictures or property descriptions.
