Monthly Archives: December 2017

In just a few short months, Ocean City’s beaches and boardwalk will be even better than before. Here are a couple of the projects that are currently in progress:

In October, a $13.4 million project to rebuild beaches between Seaspray Road and 12th Street began, which will add about 1.3 million cubic yards of sand to the beaches.  Sand is also being stockpiled to rebuild the dunes in areas near Fifth Street and 10th Street. The work is expected to be complete by February 2018. For more information click here.

The work on the boardwalk between 10th and 12th street continues. This is the fifth and final phase of a multi-year Ocean City Boardwalk Reconstruction project. Access to all stores between Ninth and 10th Street remain open, although the boardwalk entrance at 10th Street will be closed as the work is done. Pedestrians and cyclists traveling the length of the boardwalk will be detoured at Ninth Street and back onto 12th. The project is on schedule for completion by March 2018. We are very excited to see the finished projects!

December in OCNJ

Posted in Blog Post,

If you are looking for family fun this December, you’ll find it in OCNJ.

Breakfast with Santa takes place every Saturday and Sunday at a different OCNJ restaurant from 8 am to 11 am through December 23.  Visit here for a full schedule.

Want a pic with Santa? Join him in an Ocean City Beach Patrol lifeguard boat from noon – 3 pm at the Ocean City Music Pier on weekends through December 23.  Photos are $10 each.

And if you just want to sit and take in the view, a free old-fashioned horse and carriage ride down Asbury Ave is a must! The rides run from noon – 3 pm on weekends through December 23. They start in front of City Hall at Ninth Street and Asbury Ave. You are also in the perfect spot for squeezing in some shopping before or after, and for dining at a nearby restaurant!
