While the full length of the Ocean City Boardwalk reopened on February 15, construction of five new pavilions is underway and expected to be completed by the end of March.

These new structures, which will look similar to the pavilion at 11th Street, will sit on 82 x 24 foot platforms, and be located on the ocean side of the boardwalk at Plaza Place, Plymouth Place, 9th Street, and one on either side of 10th Street.

This project is part of the $3 million fourth phase of Ocean City’s boardwalk transformation project covering Eighth to 10th Streets. The construction, all done in the off-season, is part of a five-year project to completely replace the boardwalk with new decking and substructure from Fifth to 12th Streets. The fifth and final phase of the boardwalk’s reconstruction will take place between 10th and 12th streets, and is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2017 and be completed by March 2018.

OCNJDoo Dah ParadeApril 8, 2017

Is your Basset Hound ready to waddle?  The 32nd annual Doo Dah Parade featuring TV icon Regis Philbin as this year’s grand marshal, is always an Ocean City favorite.  Taking place on Saturday, April 8th, the procession is a tribute to humor, and marks the beginning of a string of special events that will continue in Ocean City throughout the year.

Featuring marching bands, floats, a grand marshal and a brigade of more than 500 basset hounds, the parade is a sight to see. Be prepared for the traditional finale, “Pie-asco,” in which everybody is invited to smoosh their friends with shaving-cream pies.

The parade route starts at noon at Sixth Street and travels downtown Asbury Avenue to 12th Street, then turns to the Boardwalk at 12th Street and finishes at the Ocean City Music Pier.

Everybody is invited to participate.  Categories include: Brigades, Individuals, Basset Hound Waddle, Miscellaneous, and Impersonators of Legendary Comedians. Lineup time is 11 am.  Click here for more information regarding registration, or general information regarding the parade:
