10 Essentials For Your Beach Bag

Posted in Blog Post,

When you visit Ocean City, you will spend most of your time enjoying the surf and sand.  As you are heading out to relax on the beach, don’t forget to pack these essential items in your beach bag.

Sunscreen–Always protect you and your family members from the rays of the sun. To be effective, sunscreen should be applied 30 minutes before sun exposure, and reapplied every 2 hours.

Water–Make sure that you keep hydrated. Fill a reusable bottle with ice and water to ensure that it stays cold, or freeze disposable bottles the night before to have cold water to drink throughout the day.

Snacks–Put some snacks in your beach bag to get you through a hot day in the sun. Chips, crackers, granola bars, or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are all good items that will hold up to the heat of the day.

Hat and Sunglasses–Having a hat and sunglasses not only look good, but offer some much needed sun protection for your eyes and face.

Towel and Beach Blanket–After riding the ocean waves, the towel will come in handy to dry off.  A sheet or a beach blanket is a must for a place to stretch out and keep you from getting too sandy.

Ziplock Baggie (instead of your wallet)–Leave your purse or wallet behind and stash a ziplock baggie in your bag filled with your driver’s license, some cash, and your cell phone. The ziplock baggie will protect these items from sand and water.

Beach Tags–When vacationing in Ocean City, don’t forget that all beachgoers need to have beach tags. So pin your tags on your bag as soon as you get them!

While these items are not essentials for your beach bag, it is always a good idea to bring along a good book for reading, a wireless speaker to play your favorite music, and of course, a bucket and shovel for children of all ages to play in the sand while having fun on the beach in Ocean City!
